Homeschool Mikey… What?!

So I’m buying some homeschool stuff to use with Mikey next school year. I’m getting him early handwriting stuff, early phonics stuff, and some early math stuff. He’s going to go to Pre-K in the afternoons but he’ll be here at home with me and Jackson and Jade most mornings. And he gets bored. And he gets into trouble. So I’m going to get him some boxes and some school work and try to keep him busy while Jackson is doing his school. And since I think he’s a genius stuck in a rascal’s body, I think he’ll end up being way ahead of his peers by the time he starts kindergarten.

Or I could just get fed up and throw in the towel and let him run around in the backyard in his underwear and throw sticks at the dog while Jack and I try to do school. Anyway, I’m planning on actively trying to do preschool stuff with Mikey in the mornings while I do 4th grade with Jack and chase a toddler while the 3 year old is at preschool. Wow, when I put it like that, I sound pretty nuts. I guess we’ll just see how it goes.

  1. Yep, pretty nutty but it’s how we roll over here at the NHA too!!!

Including running around in underwear and throwing sticks. 😉

I have found in the past 2 years that homeschooling Abi with all her stuff, has been WAY easier than dealing with a school system that doesn’t understand her one bit!

You know Mikey so well. So, so well. And love him so much. It’s going to be a great success.

  2. I think it’s wonderful! Mikey is extra-ordinary, and it’s hard for teachers to give a child that sharp the extra attention they crave…even when I only had 12 students in my class, I was so frustrated by the lack of time to spend individually with any of the children. It’s so much better for him–and you will do a great job!
